Rationale

Kinematics and Dynamics is fundamental course for mechatronics engineers to understand various mechanisms. This course is essential for kinematic and dynamic analysis of any mechanism and machine.

Course Outcome

After studying this subject students will be able to:

  1. analyze the velocity and acceleration aspects of the planar mechanisms
  2. design mechanisms such as belt drive, gear drive etc. from kinematics point of view
  3. design cam profiles based on known inputs and analyze velocity and acceleration
  4. understand gyroscopic effects and learn basics of vibrations

Active Learning

Preparation of power-point slides, which include videos, animations, pictures, graphics for better understanding theory and practical work – The faculty will allocate chapters/ parts of chapters to groups of students so that the entire syllabus to be covered. The power-point slides should be put up on the web-site of the College/ Institute, along with the names of the students of the group, the name of the faculty, Department and College on the first slide. The best three works should submit to GTU.
