A message from Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth

Dear Students, Faculty Members, HoDs, Principals/Directors,

Welcome to the New Academic Year!!!

This is a new year filled with hope and anticipation, with dreams of success and greatness. Each one of us has a dream to fulfil and that dream needs to be cultivated in the right environment. In the short span of one-decade GTU has achieved many mile stones in the field of technological Education. As per the latest announcement from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) regarding Model Curriculum for the Technical Programs, GTU has taken a call to update the syllabi of the courses through newly formed Board of Studies (BoS). The attempt has been made to make the engineering syllabus more industry oriented along with yoga and Indian perspective of modern scientific worldview.

The primary aim of any system of education should be development of a whole some personality. GTU is constantly working for the development of all the students who are studying in the affiliated institutes throughout the Gujarat and hence, it has started GTU Innovation & Start-up Centre (GISC) at Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and Baroda. I wish all students to take maximum advantage of GISC activities at these regional centres. Recently GTU has received Best Technical University award from ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) at National Convention. However, I strongly believe that an University remains excellent only by constantly recognising that each institute provide best education to every student and all faculty members must try to fulfil the zest of the students. I also wish that each faculty member should involve oneself in the area of advanced research which benefits to the society at large.

The initiatives taken by GTU in the last few years are recognized by many renowned universities of India and I wish that the same momentum should go on. I also invite all the students and faculty members to take active participation in the academic events/programs organized by GTU.

I would also like to take an opportunity to welcome all the students who will shortly join their courses under GTU.

Thanking you.

Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth
